Robert Irwin, son of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, is soon bringing his washboard abs to Dancing with the Stars Season 34. His sister, Bindi Irwin, won Season 21, so, for many reasons, she is likely one of his biggest fans. But in 2023, Bindi announced that she had been struggling with endometriosis. And now, her brother Robert is providing us all with an update on how she is currently faring.
Robert Irwin shares Bindi Irwin’s health issues are “ongoing”

For those not in the know, Mayo Clinic defines endometriosis as “an often-painful condition in which tissue that is similar to the inner lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus.” It is a common (*raises hand) diagnosis, but awful to endure. Thankfully, one month after a surgery that removed 51 endometriosis lesions, Bindi is now “doing good,” Robert says.
Speaking with E! News, Robert shared, “It’s an ongoing battle. And endometriosis is one of these things where it’s not a quick fix,” he explained. But then, Robert used his platform for good, arguing, “It is something that I really think needs to [be at] the forefront of discussions.”
Clocking in with a mic drop, Robert further noted that “women’s health throughout history” and “even now” is an “under-discussed” and “under-researched” field. Therefore, Robert is now calling for advocates to “stand up and to get the word out there” about this disease.
Meanwhile, Bindi is assisting her brother with his showings on DWTS. “She really said, ‘Just try and give it your all, but enjoy and make it your own,’ ” Robert recalled. “And I’m excited to do that. I was just so proud of her, watching her light up the ballroom. Proudest little brother in the world. That’s why I’m here, that’s why I’m doing this.”
Dancing with the Stars Season 34 premieres on Tuesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
