Jack Osbourne Reveals the Moment He Learned Dad Ozzy Had Died

Jack Osbourne has opened up about Ozzy Osbourne‘s passing, six weeks after his death. In an emotional video, Jack reveals when and where he heard the bad news. He also reflected on what it was like to grow up under the music legend’s wing.

Jack Osbourne was woken early in the morning when his dad, Ozzy Osbourne, had died

Ozzy Osbourne may have been frail, but his passing in late July still came to a shock to most of us. Of course, no one felt the loss as deeply as his family, including son Jack. The Black Sabbath frontman’s youngest child posted a poignant video to his YouTube channel yesterday. In it, he talked about his dad’s death and recounted the final days they spent together.

Speaking of the moment he learnt the awful news, he shared that a long-term employee of the family visited him at home at 3:45am. Jack said: “When I looked through my window and I saw it was him, I knew something bad had happened. I was informed that my father had passed.”

The former reality TV star said that although Ozzy had been suffering with Parkinson’s disease and coronary artery disease, none of the family expected him so pass so soon. The heavy metal legend planned to retire in England, and was eager to enjoy more time with his grandchildren.

Jack reflected on what it was like being raised by Ozzy. He said: “He was deeply complicated. He was funny, and weird and awkward and clumsy and just hilarious and so insightful.”

Jack also made headlines earlier this week when he rushed to his dad’s defense after Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters made controversial comments about the singer.
