Alec Baldwin and his daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, model Ireland Baldwin, were estranged, on and off, for years. Ireland credited Alec’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, with helping to repair her relationship with her father. And now Ireland is ready to root for Hilaria as she foxtrots into the ballroom for Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars.
However, Hilaria is no stranger to controversy. In 2020, she experienced backlash for her Spanish accent, which some claimed wasn’t real. “I’m living my life, and my life is created by my parents, my different experiences, my languages, and my culture,” Hilaria previously explained.

Meanwhile, Alec is pumped that his wife will be showing off her dance moves. She is paired with DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko. “He’s been wanting me to do the show for a very long time,” Hilaria stated. Plus, viewers recently saw Alec, Hilaria, their seven kids, and assorted pets on their TLC reality show, aptly titled The Baldwins.
Recently, Ireland voiced her support for her stepmother via an Instagram post. “I wanted to take a second to talk about my step mom @hilariabaldwin. I think if people actually knew her the way I do, they would be quite surprised,” Ireland wrote in the caption. Further, she featured a photo of herself with her dog, along with Hilaria and one of her children.
Ireland continued, “She is eccentric and totally bat sh*t crazy (in a fun way), but she saved my dad’s life. She turned his health around and has shown him the forgiveness and kindness that he needed. She also recognizes and nourishes the parts of my father that are the most compassionate and wonderful.”
The model added, “I am so proud of her for doing Dancing With the Stars and I CANNOT wait to cheer her *ss on. She deserves this!”
Dancing with the Stars Season 34 will premiere on Tuesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
