There’s nothing wrong with a little microdose! Andy Cohen returned to the air this week after a summer hiatus, showing off a slimmed-down physique. Of course, it should come as no surprise that the man responsible for the Real Housewives franchise used a GLP-1 drug to make it happen. It’s on-brand for him, and he candidly shared his reasons for signing up for the injections.
Andy Cohen has been “micro-dosing” a GLP-1 weight loss drug
We’re not sure if it was Mounjaro, Wegovy, or good old-fashioned Ozempic, but Andy opened up about his skinny boy summer during the September 9 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. He said he knew he had to be honest about it, because he’s made a living off of asking other people about their physical appearances. It wouldn’t be fair to the Housewives he’s grilled about Ozempic if he didn’t own up to using it himself.
“I did, this summer, lose a good chunk of weight by micro-dosing a GLP-1,” Andy confessed. “I was really unhappy with my weight. My doctor and I talked about this last year, had recommended a GLP-1 a few times to not only address what I was feeling about my weight, but treat plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure. This is a medication that actually is beneficial to a lot of elements of health, and I finally said ‘yes.'”
The Watch What Happens Live host said that taking the GLP-1 drug helped his relationship with food. He said his late-night cravings subsided, and in addition to a “pretty rigorous” fitness journey, he dropped over 20 pounds.
“This is a revolutionary drug. I’m so happy also to have been on this journey under the care of a doctor and working with a trainer to make sure that we have done this right,” Andy continued. “I will say, my appetite returned from the micro-dose, but I feel like it caused me to reframe my relationship with food because it was sh*tty before this.”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday nights on Bravo.
