Everyone is learning more about Charlie Sheen these days, including his daughter Sami Sheen. Since the drop of Charlie’s Netflix documentary, fans are getting an inside look into the actor’s life — the good, the bad, the ugly, and the very ugly. For Sami she learned something about her dad that brought her to tears.
The documentary, called aka Charlie Sheen, premiered on Netflix this week. It featured a roster of all of Charlie’s closest friends and family. And it got very personal and emotional. A lot of tears were shed, including some from Charlie’s estranged daughter.
Sami Sheen rated her father Charlie Sheen’s Netflix documentary a 10/10
Sami just watched her father’s documentary, and it really had an impact. She posted a video on TikTok that showed her getting emotional over her father’s addiction struggles.
Sami was teary-eyed in the video and didn’t say anything. She wrote, “I didn’t know I was the reason he got sober,” across the video. Charlie’s daughter also encouraged her followers to stream the docuseries. She captioned her post, “Honestly, a 10/10 documentary.”
Sami is one of two daughters Charlie shares with his ex-wife, Denise Richards, who appeared in the documentary with Sami’s sister, Lola Sheen. Lola has taken steps to repair her relationship with her dad, but Sami still had reservations.
Perhaps now, she’ll be willing to see if they can fix their rocky relationship. Like Lola, Charlie’s addiction was one of the main reasons Sami kept her distance. Now, she’s learned that she was the reason Charlie was inspired to get clean.
In his memoir, The Book of Sheen, Charlie said he was moved to get sober when Sami asked him to pick her up, and he couldn’t because he had drunk three whisky-laced coffees. He knew she was upset and wondering if she’d ever get her dad back. And he realized that even worse than betraying himself was betraying his children.
“I knew what had to be done,” he said. ‘Sam wasn’t my final straw; she was my first harvest.” Charlie has remained sober since. His honesty is refreshing and touching, and based on her reaction, perhaps, there’s a chance for reconciliation between Charlie and Sami.
aka Charlie Sheen is available to stream on Netflix.
