Even though Dancing with the Stars pros Emma Slater and Alan Bersten are competing against each other, they still try to be mutually supportive.
Now that they’re a couple, Emma recently shared how she and Alan assist each other with their dance partners. Though they both hope to win the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, they still help each other out during DWTS rehearsals with their respective amateurs Andy Richter and Elaine Hendrix.

“Alan came into our dance rehearsal and helped out with some things,” Emma told People. “I came into their dance rehearsal, helped out. It’s great to be supportive like that.”
Emma’s partner Andy added, “She pulls [Alan] over when she’s trying to figure something out, and she knows I won’t be able to do it. She goes, ‘Just do this and see how it looks.’”
It’s been nearly five months since Alan and Emma confirmed their relationship with an onstage kiss at the final performance of the 2025 DWTS live tour in April. Fan Callie Justine called the intimate moment “the greatest hard launch of all time.” She captured the sweet smooch that set the fans screaming and posted it on TikTok. The confirmation followed months of rumors that the couple was “hooking up.”
Following the big reveal, host Alfonso Ribeiro claimed that “there was no surprise” within the DWTS family. “Emma’s my sister, and she’s at my house several times a week,” he said. “So, clearly, my household knew what was going on. We just didn’t know that they had made the decision to launch … At the end of the day, [I’m] happy for them.”
Since then, the couple has put their relationship on display, sharing multiple affectionate photos on social media. In July, Emma shared a photo on Instagram of Alan kissing her on the cheek. “Just a moment in time,” she captioned the snap, adding a Cupid’s heart emoji for emphasis.
“I miss you already,” Alan sweetly declared in the comments.
Prior to falling in love with each other, Emma was previously married to DWTS pro Sasha Farber. Fans saw them get engaged mid-show in 2016. They married in 2018, but split in 2022. Though now divorced, they still work together and remain friendly with each other.
