Russell Tovey and Tom Blyth are starring in new movie Plainclothes together. The pair stopped by WWHL earlier this week, and one of the juiciest topics of conversation was kissing. When asked who his favourite onscreen kiss had been with, Russell couldn’t resist making his co-star blush.

Russell and Tom play lovers in new cop movie Plainclothes, which presumably involves some kissing. And thankfully, at least one of them enjoyed it.
While making an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the pair answered questions from the audience. Happily, one woman asked Russell about the best kiss from his TV and movie career. When asked if Tom is a good kisser, he replied with a rather emphatic yes. He said of his co-star’s skills: “Beautiful. Very soft lips,” before adding “He’s very … he looks after me.”
Picking his favorite onscreen kiss of all time (excluding Tom), Russell said: “I quite enjoyed kissing Jonathan Groff in Looking.” Referring to the pair’s scenes in the HBO series, he added “We did a lot of kissing in Looking, and we had a very nice time on that.”
“I’ve been very lucky,” the Being Human star said. “I’ve kissed a lot of very attractive people of all genders.”
Host Andy apparently knows a thing or two about being a good kisser.
Plainclothes is writer-director Carmen Emmi’s first feature film. Tom stars as Lucas, an undercover cop in 1990s Syracuse, New York, who ends up falling for Andrew (Russell), one of the guys he’s supposed to be targeting in a sting that arrests gay men for public indecency in a mall bathroom.
Tom played a key role in bringing Russell onto the project. He told Variety: “Carmen and I were doing work on the script and work on the character of Lucas and building it together and we were brainstorming about who could possibly play Andrew. I texted Carmen, ‘Fuck, what about Russell Tovey?’ Carmen texted back saying, ‘He’s on my dream list. We might try and offer it to him.’ And sure enough, they did and he responded.”
