Since leaving Real Housewives of Orange County in 2018, life hasn’t been quiet for Meghan King.
She’s juggled custody drama, co-parenting struggles with Jim Edmonds, and tense encounters involving his third wife, Kortnie Edmonds. Now, newly released police bodycam footage adds another chapter to her already chaotic story.
The May 1 incident unfolded outside Jim and Kortnie’s Missouri home, where Meghan became emotional while talking to officers. The confrontation started after Kortnie called 911, claiming Meghan entered her home without permission.
Meghan King gets emotional discussing Jim Edmonds with police officers
On May 1, Kortnie called 911 and reported that Meghan entered the house without permission, prompting police to respond to the home. Officers arrived at the property, and their response was recorded on bodycam footage later obtained by Us Weekly.
The video starts without audio and shows Meghan standing near the home as officers surround her. When the sound kicks in, an officer warns, “I am going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop.” Meghan pushes back and shouts, “There is not a restraining order.”
During the exchange, Meghan says Jim called earlier and asked her to drop off a dress for their daughter. She grows emotional and tells police that Jim was “incredibly emotionally abusive.” She adds, “He uses his name to push me around and his money.” Meghan insists she did nothing wrong and claims Jim plans to move to Nashville, which she believes will leave her with sole custody of their children.
Meghan and Jim married in 2014 and split five years later. Their divorce was finalized in 2021. They share daughter Aspen, 8, and 7-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes. Jim married Kortnie in 2022.
Jim’s rep fired back at Meghan’s claims, telling Us Weekly, “As usual, Meghan is telling tales. Her and Jim barely communicate, so if someone is emotionally abusing her, it’s not Jim.” The rep also denied her custody comments, insisting Jim is “an active and present father” who has always tried to co-parent respectfully.
Kortnie recounted the incident differently. She told officers Meghan refused to hand over the dress, tried to talk to her daughter, and stepped inside the home. Kortnie told Meghan to “get out of my house” and claimed Meghan briefly wedged her foot in the doorway before leaving.
Prosecutors declined to press charges, but Kortnie later sought a restraining order. The case ended in a consent order requiring both women to keep their distance during family activities.
