The gloves are off in the divorce battle between Love Is Blind alums Lydia Velez and Milton Johnson.
As we previously shared, Lydia took to a podcast earlier this year and announced her divorce plans. At that time, she accused Milton of pursuing other women, in addition to being unsupportive of her fibromyalgia diagnosis and a handful of other accusations. However, in new court docs, Miltion turned the tables around, and he claimed that Ldyia isn’t innocent either.
Love Is Blind stars Lydia and Milton’s divorce keeps getting worse
According to court documents reviewed by Us Weekly, Milton formally responded to Lydia’s divorce petition on Friday, September 26. In the docs, Milton asked the courts to dismiss her petition while simultaneously filing a counterclaim of his own.
What’s interesting about Miltion’s response is that it came at the absolute last minute. Lydia originally filed for divorce on June 10. Milton didn’t respond to the case, which prompted Lydia to ask the court for a default judgment on September 17. That seemed to get things moving, and less than two weeks later, Milton lawyered up.
When explaining the demise of their marriage, Miltion said Lydia was “guilty of cruel treatment” in a “nature that renders further living together insupportable.”
Milton and his lawyers wrote, “The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between [Milton] and [Lydia] that destroys the legitimate end of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”
The one thing they both seem to agree on is that the marriage can’t be repaired. Fortunately, the Love Is Blind Season 5 alums don’t share any kids or any community property, so once they’re done pointing fingers at each other, this shouldn’t take too long to settle.
