Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars gifted fans a brand new theme. Welcome to TikTok Night! The contestants performed to popular TikTok songs and incorporated viral moves into their routines. It was a fun and fresh new twist for the show. And conservationist Robert Irwin gave it his all, including his shirt.
Robert and his partner, Witney Carson, danced a salsa to Million Dollar Baby by Tony Richman. Their routine was spicy, and mid-way through, Robert gave the people what they wanted. He ripped off his shirt.
While the duo’s scores didn’t land them at the top of the leaderboard, the internet begged to differ…
Reactions to Robert Irwin’s shirtless Dancing with the Stars salsa were epic
“Robert Irwin is all grown up, wow, you’re making me feel like a grandmother,” a flustered Carrie Ann Inaba said. “Put your shirt back on. Great performance.” Fellow judge Bruno Tonioli also praised Robert’s dance, calling it a “wonderful performance.”
However, Derek Hough called out Robert on his technique. He noted that Robert was “rigid” during the performance, adding that he “wasn’t fooled by them abs.” And the audience started to boo.
Well, scored be damned, because the internet had thoughts about Robert’s shirtless performance. One X user wrote, “Robert Irwin shirtless on my TV screen. Thank you to the ballroom gods, Witney Carson, the costume department, and the endless reasons to tune into this blessed program!”
Another user on X posted, “Robert Irwin and Dylan Efron trying to out-slut each other on dancing with the stars, and i think that’s beautiful.” Amen to that! The DWTS ballroom needs some steamy routines, and I am here for it.
Of course, Robert came into the competition with zero dance experience. However, with his ability to master technique and his charming and exuberant personality, he is a ballroom natural. I think he is the frontrunner, along with Whitney Leavitt, to take home the Mirrorball.
