There was drama in the ballroom! Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars introduced its first TikTok night for Episode 3. Reportedly, the jaw-dropping elimination led to a bit of a squabble between Danielle Fishel and MomTok star Whitney Leavitt.
After Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui and her dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, were cut from the competition. The ballroom was shocked. While Lauren and Brandon tied comedian Andy Richter and Emma Slater at the bottom of the leaderboard, Lauren had plenty of potential. She can dance, but just had a rough time with her first Latin routine. Lauren deserved a higher score.
Danielle Fishel wasn’t throwing shade at Whitney Leavitt on Dancing with the Stars
As the contestants and DWTS pros comforted Brandon and Lauren, it seemed that Whitney didn’t get the memo. In the final moments of the show, ABC cameras caught Whitney smiling and jumping around. While she tried to get Danielle to celebrate with her, the actress did not. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s smile disappeared, and fans thought that Danielle brushed Whitney off.
Meanwhile, TMZ caught up with Danielle and asked about the incident. “People seem to think that, you know, you put Whitney in her place. Do you think she’s a little tone-deaf with, you know, kind of cheering a little bit?” the reporter asked.
“No. It’s … it’s a rollercoaster of emotions. We can be happy for ourselves, and our friends that were safe, and also sad that somebody is gone,” Danielle explained. “So, I definitely did not put her in her place, but I just went to go comfort my friend.” It sounds like Danielle might not have appreciated Whitney’s … enthusiasm.
Still, it looked like an awkward moment. Hopefully, everyone will be chill for the next episode, because it is the most magical night in the ballroom. That’s right – it’s Disney Night!
