The first three episodes of Love Is Blind Season 9 were released on Netflix on Wednesday, October 1. The new season features singles from Denver, Colorado in their search to find love sight unseen. It’s still early on, but it is shaping up to be a wild season with an adultery allegation and a beyond cringy breakup already in the books. In honor of Season 9, let’s take a look at the show’s history and decipher what season stood out among the rest.
All eight seasons of Love is Blind ranked
It’s too early to judge the success of Season 9. We’re still in the pod phase, which means there is still time for the show to self-implode. But previous seasons are fair game to judge and pick apart. Not every LIB season was a slam dunk. Some held our attention throughout, others made us question why we wasted precious time watching that.
Here is every season of Love Is Blind ranked.
Season 5 – worst
Season 5 didn’t leave viewers wanting more. In fact, it was a struggle to finish the season. There wasn’t a compatible couple in the bunch, which meant the show was solely focused on petty arguments and toxic romances doomed to fail. Sure, the drama was fun, but there was no couple to root for, which made the finale unsatisfying and uneventful.
Season 8
The Season 8 cast left fans feeling underwhelmed. The male contestants were either toxic or boring, which left the women fawning over men that didn’t meet their standards. The season felt like proof the show has strayed from its original purpose. There was so much focus on the drama, which resulted in very little time for romance.
Season 2
Season 2 had big shoes to fill and in my opinion, it didn’t quite succeed in its mission. The cast was likable and there was no shortage of memorable moments. However, the two couples that said “I do” in the finale broke up not long after filming wrapped. Season 2 felt like proof that Vanessa and Nick Lachey’s “experiment” was flawed. We were all drinking the kool-aid after Season 1 produced two happily married couples, but Season 2 shocked us back to reality.
Season 3
Over all, Season 3 was solid. The cast was interesting, the conversations were spicy, and the drama kept us on our toes. I mean, who could forget cutie-gate? I certainly remember having multiple conversations with my friends about whether Cole was the villain or not. In addition to the drama, there was also a really solid couple to root for. We knew Alexa and Brennon would make it down the aisle, and we felt genuine hopeful they would make it in the real world. A feeling we were missing in Season 2.
Season 6
Season 6 was fun to watch and fun to be on the internet during. The viral moments were plentiful and although it was a bit of a train wreck, we had a good time. There were love triangles, awkward breakups, and a controversial celebrity look-alike confession that took over the internet.
Season 7
Season 7 was entertaining from start to finish. The dynamic cast held my attention the entire time. From Leo flexing his inherited wealth to Nick revealing he doesn’t know how to cook pasta, there was no shortage of memorable moments. Also, it was one of the only LIB reunions I found worth watching. The cast didn’t shy away from uncomfortable conversations and arrived ready to clear their name.
Season 4
Season 4 received mixed reviews from fans, but I loved it. The season probably had the most awkward moments of any season, but at least it kept it interesting. Zack and Irina’s awkward relationship was all I could talk about during the season’s run.
Season 1 – Best
Where it all began. Season 1 was sweet, romantic, and messy. What more could you ask for? It helped us take our mind off the COVID-19 pandemic and made us wonder, “Is love truly blind?” Also, I’m never not thinking about when Jessica gave her dog some of her wine. That was insane.
