Opinions have always been divided when it comes to the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby. Whether you love her or hate her, Mary does come out with some hilarious lines pretty consistently. And you never know what she’ll do next. She may wear couture, but she’s not above taking the sprinter van to McDonald’s in Palm Springs.
But lately, Mary has been winning sympathy from viewers for what she’s going through with her only child, Robert Cosby Jr. Her son has been struggling with drug addiction and they have both opened up to share their story on the show. Her love for her son and the battle they’re fighting together has endeared this otherwise prickly character to audiences.
On October 2, Mary’s friend and castmate Meredith Marks shared an update on Robert Jr.’s progress.
Meredith Marks gave a positive update on RHOSLC co-star Mary Cosby’s son Robert Jr.
On Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live host Jeff Lewis brought up the subject. “Not to bring it down, but it’s terrible what’s happening with Mary’s son,” he said. “Was it episode one or two where she’s having this discussion with him and, you know, he was out, he had got out of rehab. But then he admitted he had smoked weed that day … I’d probably put him right back in the car and head right over back to that treatment center.”
“I actually did speak to Mary a couple days ago,” Meredith responded. “She said that he’s really doing very well now. They went through a little bit again, and now … she thinks he’s on the other side. So that’s the good news. We have a little upside here.”
“It certainly puts things in perspective, right?” Jeff replied. “Because we all have our challenges with our kids … [But] when you see something like that, you just think … ‘Thank God I don’t have to deal with what Mary’s going through.’ It would be heartbreaking dealing with all of that.”
“It has to be just grueling,” Meredith agreed.
