Actor Charlie Sheen recently responded after his ex-wife, actress Denise Richards, admitted, “I still love him” during an interview that’s part of his Netflix documentary, aka Charlie Sheen. It appears the couple, who went through a contentious divorce in 2006, are now in a better place.
The former couple met 25 years ago when filming the romantic comedy Good Advice. However, they didn’t get together romantically until a year later, when Denise secured a guest role on Charlie’s sitcom Spin City.

During his October 27 Club Random podcast, Bill Maher asked Charlie about Denise’s admission that she still loved him in the documentary. The former Two and a Half Men star exclaimed, “It was nice to hear that.” When Bill observed “she obviously still loves you,” Charlie didn’t dispute it.
In Charlie’s documentary, Denise says her ex is “not at all what people think,” and he was shy when they first got together. Engaged in December 2001, the pair tied the knot the following summer. Charlie and Denise were married for four years and have two children – Sami, 21, and Lola, 20. The former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills said at the time that Charlie’s drug use led to end of their marriage, calling the relationship “toxic.”
In the documentary, she explains, “As soon as [Two and a Half Men] started getting really successful, I think the pressure of that changed him. It was almost like he was sabotaging the success and sabotaging our family.”
Denise is currently going through a contentious divorce from estranged husband Aaron Phypers, who she claims was abusive. He has denied the allegations. The two married in 2018. On August 21, the Wild Things star talked about the split, saying, “I never thought I’d get divorced again.”
After Aaron filed for divorce last summer, Denise was granted a temporary restraining order against him. Shortly after, she accused her ex-husband of violating the order. Aaron accused Denise of cheating earlier this year, as well as physical abuse. On October 17, Aaron was arrested during a hearing on an outstanding warrant related to Denise’s domestic abuse claims. He was released after posting a $200,000 bond.
