No, you’re not dreaming. Ryan Murphy just announced the cast for American Horror Story Season 13, and Jessica Lange is back! The Grande Dame of AHS is returning to the show after years of claiming she was done with it. This news is nothing short of a Halloween miracle, and you’re going to gag when you see who else is returning.
Jessica Lange is returning for AHS 13
It’s been two years since FX premiered American Horror Story Season 12. Based on a book called Delicate Condition, it starred Kim Kardashian, and the season was split into two parts amid the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
After letting the franchise rest for a bit, Ryan Murphy Productions surprised fans with a Season 13 cast announcement on October 31. Jessica is just one of the many names that have fans freaking out.
Emma Roberts will return for her eighth season, along with Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. Literally, it’s like an all-star cast of American Horror Story alums.
Not to mention, Ariana Grande is set to appear in Season 13. It’s her first TV gig since starring in the first season of Ryan’s cult classic, Scream Queens. With all of this casting news, fans were losing their minds in the Instagram comments. Rightfully so.
“The way my mouth DROPPED at the return of queen Jessica Lange,” commented one fan on Instagram.
“Screaming so loud even Madame LaLaurie would wake up,” quipped another fan.
The AHS producers haven’t confirmed any plot details. However, the cast announcement has plenty of fans hoping, praying, and begging for a return to the Coven storyline of Season 3. They previously revived those characters for Season 8’s Apocalypse, and coincidentally, that was the last time we saw Jessica on the show, albeit a brief cameo.
“JESSICA LANGE?!!!! THE SUPREME?!!! PLEASE LET THIS BE A PART 3 TO COVEN/APOCALYPSE,” added one extremely excited fan.
Meanwhile, some AHS fans fear that this cast of heavy hitters will usher in the end of the show. Either way, you’ve got plenty of time to spin out your theories. Season 13 won’t drop until Halloween 2026.
