In case you missed it, Shaquille O’Neal recently sat down for an interview with Andy Cohen. The NBA legend is in the middle of a media blitz to promote his new sleep apnea awareness campaign (yes, really).
As riveting as sleep apnea is, Andy didn’t spend the whole interview talking about it. Instead, he took a few moments to ask about Shaq’s connections to the Bravo world, including whether or not he saw Charles Oakley’s new gig on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Shaq was also asked about Larsa Pippen’s dating history
On SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, when Andy asked Shaq about Charles and his new role as a Real Househusband of Atlanta, his initial reply was hilariously short. He just said, “I saw that. That’s nice.”
From there, the NBA champ opened up a little more. He reflected on his experience competing against Charles when he played for the New York Knicks.
“We have a tremendous amount of respect for each other. He taught me a lot about what toughness really is, when you can come up here and battle against the Knicks and go through that fierce competition,” Shaq said. “I always call him Uncle Charles.”
That set Andy for his next Bravoverse question. What did Shaq think of Larsa Pippen and her ill-fated romance with Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan?
“It was so wild when Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife started dating Michael Jordan’s son,” Andy said. “Did that cross your radar at all?
Instead of answering the question, Shaq just picked up a piece of paper and rubbed it all over the microphone. He didn’t want to go anywhere near that topic. We don’t blame him.
“Your microphones,” Shaq joked. “Is everything okay with your microphone up there?”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is streaming on Peacock.
