She’s booked and busy! Heather Gay just got another gig to add to her ever-expanding resume. Peacock just announced that the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star will be doing an NFL play-by-play show, along with other unscripted stars, like Survivor superstar Boston Rob. Yes, really!

An NFL broadcast is the last place we’d thought we’d see a Housewife, but Peacock is looking to bridge the gap between sports fans and the reality TV-obsessed. According to Variety, Peacock, NBC Sports, and the NFL have partnered up for a Sunday Night Football simulcast called the Reality Hot Seat.
Heather and Rob will offer play-by-play commentary on a matchup between the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs. They’ll be joined by Below Deck alum Kate Chastain and the recently unemployed E! News star, Justin Sylvester.
If you’re not a sports person, this probably sounds like the most random thing you’ve ever heard. However, these “altcasts” are becoming increasingly common with the NFL. They’ve done them before with other franchises, like The Simpsons and SpongeBob. They’re looking to broaden their audience and spice things up for your Sunday football. With Reality Hot Seat, they plan to make their sports commentary targeted at reality fans.
“Whether breaking down sideline tension like a Real Housewives dinner party, comparing quarterback-receiver chemistry to a Love Island recoupling, or analyzing coaching calls worthy of The Traitors roundtable, Reality Hot Seat digs into the dirt unfolding on the field – the calls, the reactions, the emotions that will have viewers talking come Monday morning,” a synopsis read.
The press release also teased special guests and exclusive sneak peeks throughout the broadcast. Now that they’re speaking our language, football might finally start to make sense.
Reality Hot Seat kicks off on Sunday, December 7, at 8/7c on Peacock. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Bravo on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
