Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars has been nothing short of epic. The ratings are reportedly up, and the voting numbers have surged. It feels like a return to the spirit of earlier seasons, mixed in with exciting new challenges. Plus, when DWTS celebrated its 20th birthday, it brought back former host Tom Bergeron.
However, he wasn’t the only former DWTS family member to return for the celebration. The six pros from Season 1 danced with the current pros and troupe. It felt like a joyful reunion, and it was thrilling to see these “OG” pro dancers back on the floor.
Tom Bergeron wants Dancing with the Stars’ results shows to return

Tom was fired from DWTS in 2020, and Season 34 marked his first return to the ballroom. He was happy to come back and shouted out the current DWTS team for returning the show “back to its essence.” However, Tom used his final moments on camera to make a request.
“But in my last comments as a judge, I want to talk directly to the network. This show is setting ratings records again, so next season, bring back the results show,” Tom said. “Let the whole country vote.” Ah, yes. The good old days, when the series had a two-night format. Results were revealed on the second night, and there were guest performances and peeks behind the scenes.
Welp, DWTS executive producer Dina Katz weighed in on Tom’s idea. “You know … I think we’re going great right now. But I used to love the results show,” Dina told TV Insider. “They were so much fun. It was like doing a big variety show. We had music, dance … it was everything. It was great.”
She added, “It’d be fun to do those again, but I feel we’re doing great right now. I’m thrilled with what we’re doing.”
Dancing with the Stars Season 34 finale will air on Tuesday, November 25, at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
