It was a dream come true for Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck when they auditioned for Dancing with the Stars. Then, both of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars landed a spot in Season 34 of the show. While neither contestant made it to the DWTS finale, they did manage to spawn some feud rumors.
When Jen was sent home during Week 7, Whitney appeared to smile in the background before hastily covering her mouth. That didn’t sit well with some fans. In the end, Whitney and her partner, Mark Ballas, fell short of making the finale. They were eliminated during the semi-finals.

Recently, Whitney and Mark opened up about their DWTS experience on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She explained that she had “no excitement whatsoever” about Jen being sent home. “I thought I was getting eliminated every Tuesday,” Whitney explained. “Every single Tuesday, I was like mentally preparing myself.” She added that in the moment captured on camera, she felt relieved that she wasn’t eliminated. However, she was upset that Jen was leaving.
During Season 3 of SLOMW, it was clear that the duo’s friendship was on thin ice before they hit the ballroom. “Jen understands what it’s like being in the public eye, being in the reality space,” Whitney stated. “Getting the hate – she’s experienced it.” In addition, both Whitney and Mark received hate-filled comments from online trolls during their DWTS stint.
Whitney continued, “It didn’t feel great that she fed into that, that she decided to go on a live and say, ‘Yeah, I’m not going to vote for her.’ I mean, she could have just said who she was voting for.” It remains to be seen if these once close friends will salvage their relationship.
