If you’re a fan of the Below Deck franchise, you’re probably very familiar with Chef Ben Robinson. Over the years, Ben’s cooked on four complete seasons and two partial seasons of both Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean.
Now he’s bringing his culinary skills to Season 4 of Below Deck Down Under. On his previous shows, Ben not only worked alongside Chief Stew Kate Chastain, but they’re also besties on-shore. (Though they’re close, Ben is not the father of Kate’s baby, as is often rumored.)
Now that Kate’s home with her son, Ben will be working alongside BDDU’s new Chief Stew, Daisy Kelliher. During a BravoCon panel, which Kate hosted, Ben was asked about how the two chief stew’s working styles differed.
Chef Ben Robinson is returning for Below Deck Down Under Season 4

“Well, she’s incredibly different to you,” Ben told Kate. “She’s not quite as sassy as you, you know?”
Pausing a moment to decide if she should be offended, Kate chose to take that as a “compliment.”
“[But] I think our sassiness gels quite well, you know? You and I,” Ben added. That’s why they’ve been friends all these years, even choosing to live in the same Fort Lauderdale apartment building.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing between Daisy and Ben. As we saw in the Season 4 trailer, the two had a tension-filled confrontation in the galley, ending with Daisy calling the Brit’s behavior “outrageous.” Nevertheless, Ben now claims the yachties are again on good terms.
“I really enjoyed Daisy,” Ben added. “She doesn’t take a lot to heart. We moved on pretty quickly after our rouse.”
“We did, too,” Ben reminded Kate, referring to their Below Deck days. However, he noted that Kate sometimes took a little longer to move on: “Kate loves a grudge.”
“The only thing I love more than a grudge is revenge,” Kate laughed. “So that’s always fun, you know? … I’ll forget what you did, but I will never forgive. Forget but never forgive.”
“That’s a good motto,” Ben agreed.
Below Deck Down Under Season 4 premieres February 2 at 8/7c on Bravo and streams the following day on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in Canada, the UK and Ireland.
