Ciara Miller is making her opinion known regarding the Southern Charm cast’s treatment of Venita Aspen. Specifically, Craig Conover’s refusal to acknowledge Venita during filming. Moreover, Salley Carson, who claimed to be a supportive friend, disregarded Venita’s feelings to pursue a dalliance with the Sewing Down South founder.
Ciara knows Craig by proxy of his former relationship with Paige DeSorbo. And the Summer House star feels that Venita’s co-stars are expecting her to acquiesce too much. Being that she is the only Black woman on the cast, the suggestion takes on a more complex meaning.

Ciara jumped in to defend the Southern Charm beauty after a recent TikTok video called out Venita’s treatment. She wrote, “Imagine being the only Black girl on a predominantly white cast in the SOUTH. No one ever sees Venita’s side. And her cast only expects her to be submissive to their opinions and limelight.”
On a video posted Monday, December 1, TikToker @JoshtheRHONYstan spoke to, not only Craig’s refusal to acknowledge Venita, but also Salley’s pursuit of him.
“If a main cast ‘refuses’ to film with another main cast member; that’s code for trying to push them out. So yes, your entire analysis of [this] situation is correct,” the professional model wrote.
“For some ‘odd’ reason, Black women/people are held to such an insanely high standard, we are rewarded less grace, and we must always be the bigger person in every situation, wronged or not,” Ciara continued. “While our white counterparts can be as diabolical and disgusting and still remain fan favorites and don’t have to encounter 1/4 of the hate that we get simple for existing.”
The Summer House star pointed out the discrepancies in compensation between the races. She added, “Not to mention getting paid more, and getting to reap opportunities we have to quite literally jump up and down just to get noticed for.”
Finally, the Bravolebrity urged Southern Charm fans to consider things from Venita’s perspective. They should “bring AMPLE reasons” for her accountability. Rather err on the side of talking “sh*t about someone else, but don’t ever let it be Venita.”
“And also compare her to your favorite white cast mates. I’ll bet she’s an angel,” Ciara concluded.
Catch Southern Charm Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. The show streams on Hayu in Canada, the UK and Ireland.
