It looks like Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Britani Bateman is navigating some drama that finally doesn’t involve Jared Osmond. Her ex-husband, John Underwood, was just arrested for allegedly violating a restraining order that she has against him. Here’s what we know so far.
John Underwood was arrested for allegedly violating a protective order
Britani and John were married for six and a half years, and they finalized their divorce back in October 2023. In court documents, Britani painted John in an extremely negative light. Seriously, he makes Jared look like a saint.
Britani said John controlled every aspect of her life — all the way down to the type of beauty products she could use. Plus, she said he demanded sex daily, kept her away from her kids, and drained their shared bank account.
After their divorce in 2023, Britani received a protective order against John. He was ordered to stay 25 feet away from her, but according to court documents reviewed by TMZ, he’s allegedly been harassing her ever since.
According to the court documents, Britani accused him of various violations of the order. She said she caught him staring at her from the distance allowed under the order. He’s been commenting on her social posts. She also claimed he rerouted her mail and tried tampering with the electrical box at her house to try to disrupt the power.
Additionally, things took another turn when John allegedly doxed Britani on TikTok. Court docs claim he dropped her phone number in a comment and wrote, “There ya go. Give her a call.” After that, Britani said she started getting “unpleasant” text messages from strangers and “unknown people coming to her house.”
Police in Utah arrested John last week and charged him with a felony. He had his first appearance in court on Wednesday, December 17, but there’s no word on how things played out. Stay tuned for more updates.
