In the tense political environment we’re living in, fans take note of who stars follow on social media as an indication of their political affiliation. In the case of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City husband Shawn Trujillo, rumors have recently circulated concerning his supposedly “far right” political views.
Currently, Angie Katsanevas’ spouse calls the speculation about him being ultra-conservative “nonsense.” Despite following conservative icons on social media such as Joe Rogan, Robert F Kennedy Jr, Lara Trump and the late Charlie Kirk, Shawn insists he’s “not far right.”

“I don’t have anything to add other than I’m not far right,” Shawn told Reality Shrine. It’s nonsense. I gather info. Both right and left but for some reason they only pick up on the right. Everything that is being talked about is all based on assumptions.”
“None of these people bring up the fact that I follow CNN and Anderson Cooper or Van Jones,” he continued. “This Andrew Tate business is crazy. I didn’t even know who he was but as a car enthusiast, I started following him based on automobiles.”
“My views are more centrist,” the professional hairdresser added. “I have tremendous support for the LGBTQ community and the ability to have every right we all have. My biggest challenge is that everyone thinks they should think like them or get canceled. It’s bananas.”
“We love our gay community,” he said at the time. “We’ve been embedded in it for 30 years now just based on what we do for business.”
But justifying why he follows so many conservative and “far right” people on social media, he concluded, “I always have love and respect for my friends regardless of political or religious beliefs. If I hit a like on a friend’s post, it’s to be supportive of a friend, not necessarily with the content. Make sense?”
