Once again, reality fans are waking up to some disturbing news. Chad Ollinger, who appeared on all five seasons of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, has been booked for allegedly committing murder. This incident occurred in a Las Vegas Prison.
Before his recent prison stint, Chad was part of the series, which focused on his father, Duane Ollinger’s, Utah ranch. The show premiered in 2021 and focused on the duo’s search for a stash of golden treasure that they believed was buried somewhere on the property. Now, Chad’s future is a mystery as he faces these newest allegations.

According to a press release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, on December 26, 2025, corrections officers at the Clark County Detention Center “observed a male inmate lying motionless inside of a cell.” This “inmate was suffering from apparent blunt force injuries. The other cellmate, who was identified as 41-year-old Chad Ollinger, was taken into custody.”
Although the officers “rendered aid to the victim,” the inmate “was pronounced deceased.” Meanwhile, homicide investigators from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department determined that “a physical altercation occurred between the victim and Ollinger inside of the cell. Ollinger was rebooked for Open Murder.”
According to OK! Magazine, Chad was originally scheduled to be released in days. However, he will now have a hearing on December 30 for the open murder charge. The former reality star was in jail for two charges stemming from an arrest on October 27. Chad was arrested in Nevada for contempt of court and being a fugitive from another state.
Meanwhile, in November 2024, he was arrested for running a red light on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Allegedly, he ditched his bike and tried to escape on foot before being caught. And in February, he was arrested again for driving with an invalid license, along with previous convictions.
