The Valley: Persian Style is officially on a roll, and we’re getting the Shahs of Sunset goodness we deserve. Unfortunately, watching Mercedeh “MJ” Javid and estranged husband Tommy Feight is a bit sad knowing what happens to the former couple in the end. It makes some interactions appear as glaring red flags, such as his questionable jokes and comments about MJ and her mom.
Fans could already see hints of MJ and Tommy’s marital issues in the second episode during date night. She told him that she didn’t like his inappropriate jokes at her expense, and he said that teasing was his love language. Yikes.
The Valley: Persian Style Episode 3 shows some cracks in Tommy and MJ’s marriage
The sneak peek of the upcoming episode shows even more cracks as Tommy and MJ talk about MJ’s mom, Vida.
It’s no secret that Tommy and Vida have not always gotten along. Vida has always been quite transparent about her dislike for Tommy. Despite them learning to co-exist over the years, it’s apparent that they never became besties.
In the quick clip, Tommy said that MJ’s cluttered desk and brilliant mind were reminiscent of Einstein, and she said he reminded her of her mother.
“No, don’t compare me to your mother, dude,” Tommy said immediately. “Because that lady’s f*cking nuts. We were just going to go get something to eat, and it turned into a bloodbath. We didn’t even get a chance to order.”
Apparently, Vida told him some things he didn’t want to hear.
“She told me you were very unhappy in your marriage,” Tommy shared. “I know my shortcomings. And one of the other things that gets triggering for me is that the worst parts of you, you get from her.”
Ouch. MJ looks hurt, and Tommy shared that he was tired of always being the one who was scrutinized and had to fix things. MJ said that she wishes they could talk in a “safe, calm space” instead of pushing things under the rug.
They end the conversation in a hug, but it looks like things are seriously wrong with the pair. All the signs of their eventual split were there.
