Things got off to a rough start between Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley and newbie Amanda Frances. The two seemed to take an almost immediate dislike to each other, possibly because they have very similar personalities.
When Dorit brought up that Amanda “ran away from a cult,” the Money Queen promised to supply more details at a later date. Meanwhile, Amanda blamed Dorit for causing her to leave Rachel Zoe’s dinner party in tears.
Amanda spilled more information on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, which aired February 5.
Amanda Frances is saving the specifics about the “cult” for her book
“There weren’t many dinner parties in the cult, I have to tell you,” she told Kyle Richards. “I should have joined one like that. Maybe next time.”
Apparently, Amanda wrote the blog post about leaving a cult over 14 years ago, so it’s been a while. She also has written many other articles and given several interviews on the subject. In addition, the entrepreneur mentioned her experience in her book Rich as F*ck, although she claims to be saving the details for her next book.
“I’m writing that book now,” she added. “So, there were never any secrets. But it’s just been so long ago.”
“What makes a cult a cult is the isolation, the control, the manipulation, the subtle brainwashing,” she explained. “A cult is typically marked by control, manipulation, an authority figure leader that cannot be questioned, the fear of leaving. I can say a lot of things about what it was and what it wasn’t, and why it meets the criteria of a cult. But, yes, it was not known for the dinner parties.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.
