When Colton Underwood became a main character on The Traitors Season 4, his past with Cassie Randolph quickly resurfaced. The pair left his season of The Bachelor together, but a year later, Cassie filed a restraining order, accusing him of harassment and placing a tracking device on her car.
They later resolved the dispute privately, and Cassie withdrew her restraining order. Still, many Traitors fans were unhappy to see him in the castle and frequently revisited the controversy online. Now, Colton is sharing more details about that period in his life and where he and Cassie stand today.
Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph have “no contact”

After filming The Traitors Season 4 reunion, where Colton discussed the “challenging” experience with the audience, he spoke to Vanity Fair about the renewed scrutiny of his past. According to Colton, he told the producers that he didn’t want his past discussed on camera. That didn’t stop fans, along with Lisa Rinna, from bringing it up online.
Reflecting on the drama, Colton continued to take responsibility for his behavior. He also suggested that his critics were “lacking a lot of the context.”
“This perception of who I was at my lowest point in my life is not who I am when I work with these companies, when I work with these people, when I show up on television,” he explained.
Colton said he was “struggling with Xanax and prescription medications,” along with being blackmailed by someone threatening to out him. The alleged blackmailer claimed to have photos of him at a gay spa, which Colton said sent him into “an extreme state of paranoia.” Combined with the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic, he said it led to “some really, really poor decisions.”
“It was somewhat of the perfect storm of me hitting rock bottom, of me really trying to navigate, ‘Am I gonna kill myself or am I gonna come out?'” Colton recalled.
Colton says he has moved forward from his Bachelor controversy but still feels “a lot of sadness and shame” around what happened. He also confirmed that he and Cassie have “no contact.”
“If she ever did reach out or want to reach out, I would be open to answering any questions that her or her family would have for me,” Colton admitted.
“That is something I’ve always offered. I’m in no position to really say much more than that or reach out. There’s been no part of me that would,” he added. “ I would always be up for it. It’s all on her terms.”
The Traitors is streaming on Peacock.
