Sharon Osbourne walked the BRIT Awards red carpet with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, over the weekend. Afterwards, fans took to social media to comment on Kelly’s appearance, with many sharing concerns about her drastic weight loss. Now, Sharon has spoken out, reminding fans that Kelly is grieving her father, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away last year.
Kelly Osbourne has hit back against the body-shaming online
To recap, Sharon and Kelly attended the 2026 BRITs to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of Ozzy. He died in July 2025 at the age of 76.
Sharon told the audience she was “honored” to accept the award. While Kelly said, “Thank you for loving my father as much as we do.” The moment was emotional, but the conversation about Kelly’s appearance took center stage on social media.
Reacting to that, Sharon later explained on an episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored: “She’s lost her daddy … she can’t eat right now.”
She went on to criticise those commenting on Kelly’s appearance, branding them “unhappy” individuals who are using social media as a “shield.”
For her part, Kelly also took a moment to respond to the online comments. “There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something,” she wrote in an Instagram Story on March 1.
“Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most,” she went on.
Kelly continued: “I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”
Her comments echo a similar post she made on Instagram in December last year. “I am ill right now,” Kelly said. “My life is completely flipped upside down.”
