Joan Lunden is pulling back the curtain on a shocking workplace scandal she alleges from years ago. Before hitting it big at Good Morning America the journalist served as a junior reporter at WABC-TV. In her new tell-all memoir, Joan claims that her boss at that time invited her to join him and the staff for a get-together at a place she called Fire Island.
She believed it was just a night out with the staff. However, upon arrival, it was very different from what she had imagined. Additionally, the renowned anchor and reporter said that she was put in a very uncomfortable situation by her boss.
Joan Lunden says she was propositioned before a TV boss killed her stories

In the memoir, Joan delves into are her interactions with her WABC boss, whom she refers to as Ted.
When she arrived on Fire Island, she says that only four people were present, two of whom were another reporter and his girlfriend. Joan claims that Ted pressured her to share a bedroom with him for the evening. She declined, instead spending what she said was an uncomfortable night on the living room sofa. She says that she was desperate to escape a situation, feeling trapped and vulnerable.
The aftermath of the alleged awkward night apparently led to tension between the two in the office. Joan claims that he began systematically killing her stories. For her, he did this as a form of revenge for Joan rejecting him.
These days, the show seems to have a lot more tension with the likes of Ginger Zee and Lara Spencer. In December the two were said to be in a battle for attention.
Joan left that station in the mid 70s before coming on board at GMA. Her New York Times bestselling novel came out today.
