Last season on Southern Charm, many stars raised their hands to admit that Craig Conover scared them. This season, many of these same hands remain up. Unfortunately, Craig is still a reactionary figure who often exhibits volatile behaviors, especially when drinking. This season, Craig has yelled and cursed at almost everyone, women and men alike. But as the sneak peek for Episode 15 teases, changes might be afoot in Charleston, as Craig is about to start making amends with some of his costars.
Charley Manley is shocked Salley Carson believes Craig Conover’s words
At the end of Episode 13, Craig blew up at Salley Carson. Craig didn’t like how invested Salley was in his life. So, after a day spent drinking, Craig told Salley to “shut the f*ck up.” He then called her “dumb” and asked her to leave him alone.
Craig also blew up at Venita Aspen. Oh, and Austen Kroll. It’s been a long season.
Craig’s outbursts are growing stronger. So now, Charley Manley is cutting ties on their blossoming romance storyline. Could this be why Craig is about to apologize next week? Maybe.
As the trailer opens, we see Salley sitting next to Craig at yet another dinner table during their cast trip. No one is fighting, so Austen uses this moment to speak in even tones with Craig. When Craig was dating his ex, Austen felt left out. In response, Craig says he never felt differently about their friendship, but he respects how Austin must have felt.
Okay, babysteps. Except that Salley, Venita, and Charley are still side-eyeing Craig. “I felt so sad last night,” Salley eventually says. “I’m sorry,” Craig answers, and then he also notes that Salley is not “a loser,” and “he would take [his words] back in a heartbeat” if he could.
It works. Salley mostly forgives Craig. Meanwhile, in her interview, Charley sighs, saying, “It’s mind-boggling to me that Salley is buying this apology, because it just doesn’t feel like it’s enough.”
