I hate to say you told me so, but you told me so. Yep, it sounds like Southern Charm is in ICU and the prognosis isn’t looking too great. It might be time to call friends and family members and get out your favorite black outfit. By all accounts, the show is in trouble. I’ll say it, the current cast is circling the drain because Thomas Ravenel departed. We don’t have a lot of people bringing interest to the table these days. No one seemed fascinated by Austen Kroll’s journey in trying to be a boy toy and Shep Rose has less personality and dignity than Naomie Olindo’s cat.
If the truth hurts, this will too. The ladies of the cast are leaving fans high and dry. Cameran Eubanks was the voice of reason when the show began, now she is the voice of judgment and often glosses over her friends’ shitty behavior. Chelsea Meissner is lovely but dang, she lacks a life. Since her “love interest” is some dude on a boat at sea, there are no relationship storylines for her. Kathryn Dennis is drama personified but not legally able to speak about certain things. Quite frankly her moods were so strange last season, fans constantly wondered if she was either on something or just checked out. Now we are hearing production has delayed filming through January, and you know what that usually means. Are we watching one of Bravo’s old favorites taking it’s last few breaths?
Southern Charm star Cameran Eubanks has a unique place on the show. She has been Southern Charm’s narrator since its debut in 2014. Through six seasons, Cameran has offered up her take on the behavior of her castmates in a way few other reality stars have been able to do. Of course, Cameran is also a star of the series, but she has largely kept her personal life private, a rare feat in reality television.
Cameran’s doctor husband Jason Wimberly has been almost completely MIA from the show, although he did show up in last season’s finale. Unfortunately, he popped up while Cameran was fawning over Naomie Olindo’s boyfriend Metul Shah! We have gotten to know a little bit more about Cameran in the last few seasons as she has shared her fears about becoming a mother, as well as her worries about being a good parent to daughter Palmer. And her ambivalence about having a second child. Another thing we know about Cameran is that she and alcohol don’t always mix. Recently, Cameran revealed why she gets a little crazy sometimes when she drinks.
One of the perks of reality star fame is that it can be a great launching pad for starting businesses. Reality stars have branched off into clothing, makeup and skincare lines, restaurants, wines and more. Some of these endeavors have been successful, some of them not. It is understandable anyone would want to strike while the reality iron is hot.
Southern Charm’s Craig Conover is one reality star who has started to have some success in the business world. His co-stars snickered when Craig shared his dreams of making pillows, but during the past year, he has launched a business, Sewing Down South, that is becoming more and more successful. Two of Craig’s fiercest critics have been co-stars Shep Rose and Cameran Eubanks. We all know Shep is not likely to eat his throw pillow words anytime soon, but Cameran has started to see the light on Craig’s business venture.
Man, if this happens, it will be another ratings extravaganza for Bravo. They do love bringing back
criminals former cast members to shake things up. Like many of our faves, Southern Charm’s Cameran Eubanks showed up at BravoCon. This was actually good as fans of the show have speculated it might not return. Even cast members have seemed bewildered at the lack of filming. Word on the street is production will begin on Season 7 in January.
So the Charleston crew is probably breathing a sigh of relief that they aren’t dead yet. Last year viewers endured a trip down STD mountain and had their eyes repeatedly assaulted by the tragic sight of Austen Kroll in his underwear. Shep Rose seemingly grabbed the asswipe title and has hopefully adjusted his attitude as a result. Speaking of assault and asswipes, what’s happening with good ‘ole
boy Thomas Ravenel? T-Rav recently settled a custody dispute with Kathryn Dennis and all is well on Fantasy Island. Now that Thomas’ sexual assault case has also been resolved, will he dip his dainty toes back in the reality television pond? According to Cameran, it’s possible. Yikes.
One of the things many fans of Southern Charm know is that the show usually films in the fall. Viewers are treated to the change of seasons in Charleston from sultry late summer days to crisp fall weather. The beautiful scenery is a part of the draw of the show, almost like another cast member. This year, the word is out that the show has not been filming as usual.
No fall filming? And no Kathryn Dennis parading around in eclectic seasonal fashions straight from the racks of Gwynn’s? The cast has been mostly mum on season 7 filming, but some information has leaked out. Shep Rose claimed not to know if there would be another season, but did confirm that the cast was not filming back in October. Co-star Craig Conover recently hinted there would be a season 7, but gave no specifics. While Craig and Shep were a little mysterious about filming, cast member Austen Kroll has spilled a few additional details that sound hopeful for a new season.
Austen Kroll was in the strangest love/friendship triangle last season on Southern Charm. And, no, I’m not referring to that video they played with Austen and two women during every single episode.
Austen’s biggest struggle last season was trying to please his girlfriend Madison LeCroy and his close friend Shep Rose. In an exclusive interview with Reality Tea during BravoCon, Austen talked on how difficult it is for him to balance both of those relationships.
While we wait for an official announcement about Southern Charm’s return, viewers are still recovering from
Shep Rose the multitude of drama the stars gave us in Season 6. Not only were we tortured by the reappearance of Ashley Jacobs, fans were also introduced to recent college graduate, Eliza Limehouse. We can blame Eliza for bringing Ashley back, but it’s safe to say Thomas Ravenel’s ex wasn’t the one who brought class and sophistication to the show.
We can save that honor for Madison LeCroy. As Patricia Altschul’s hair stylist, Madison could also call herself Austen Kroll’s girlfriend. Because unemployed men with zero ambition and friends like Shep are a hot commodity in Charleston! Austen tested Madison’s boundaries when he was busted having a threesome. Madison tested Austen’s nerves when she wouldn’t take any of Shep’s misogynist garbage. By the time the cast reunited for the reunion, Austen and Madison were sadly no more. Well, now that
filming is about to start the holidays are approaching, we might have been given an early gift. Love is in the air! Sorry single gals and guys, it looks like Austen might be off the market again.
Craig Conover had a mostly good season on Southern Charm this year, despite some hiccups along the way. He finally kicked it into gear to take steps to get his online pillow business started, which he later called Sewing Down South. Craig moved on from pining over his ex Naomie Olindo. He also revealed at the cast reunion that some of his erratic behavior during the season was due to his problem with Adderall, which he seems to have conquered.
It was exciting to see the positive changes in Craig after years of stagnation. Of course, we all want updates on what he has been up to since last season. Southern Charm fans know that the show usually films in the fall and it appears the cast is not currently filming. Shep Rose even stated on a recent podcast that he didn’t know if there was going to be another season. Say it ain’t so! But, what is the real truth about a possible season 7 of the show?
