The repercussions of one text sent during an episode of drunken merriment are still playing out on Below Deck Down Under. The wise ones avoid getting emotional with other crew members. But Eddy Hounsell got into an uncomfortable love triangle with Alesia Harris and Jenna Woudberg. Now, the latter reality TV star is done.
Ellie is losing patience with Ben in the galley
Ben had a reputation of being a hot-head in the galley. And that’s from his days with Kate Chastain. But it’s certainly not getting better. Alesia quit the galley citing the stressful atmosphere.
Now, Ellie has her own issues with the unpredictable chef. However, she’s fighting fire with fire rather than tears. The Slovenian national takes offense to being called pet names while at work. In the sneak peek for next week’s episode, she speaks to First Officer João Franco.
“I did want to ask you something because you are a manager of teams, and you’re also his friend. There’s one thing he does, he never addresses me by my name,” Ellie told João.
She continued, “I’m not your shmookey, pookey, honey, bunny all of this all day long. I f*cking hate it.”
João responded, “But this is such a good conversation about cultural difference. He calls me love.”
The clip cuts to a montage of the chef’s lesson than stellar moments calling his co-workers all manner of pet name. Ellie did not accept that explanation, and the majority of Below Deck viewers back her in this situation.
She said, “You don’t work for him. And he does not call you love for 18 hours a day. Of all the quirks he’s got, this is the one that’s going to like set me off.”
Having a boss call me all of these pet names, not only is it unprofessional. You’re diminishing me into this small, nonserious entity. It’s affecting me on a personal level. I mean my family has gone through a war. I’ve been bombed as an 8 year old child…”
Joao advised Ellie to, “tell him, directly.”
Meanwhile, Jenna told Eddy off during the crew night out. It was the latter part of the evening, and the group was returning to the yacht after the festivities. She told the deck hand that he “F*cked up the first f*cking day.” Adding, “how does somebody do that? You burnt your bridges with me.”
