With the release of their new album “Arirang,” the seven Bangtan boys have set out on their world tour after four years. In between, they did their compulsory military enlistments. Before leaving, Usher reportedly invited the youngest member of the boy band to Super Bowl 2024.
BTS member RM reveals why Jungkook couldn’t perform at the Super Bowl
BTS member Jungkook was reportedly supposed to perform at the Super Bowl 2024. Recently, the South Korean boy band, who are known as the Kings of K-pop, appeared in an interview with Rolling Stone. While promoting their new album “Arirang,” they talked about performing at the biggest sports stage.
BTS leader RM (also known as Kim Namjoon) revealed that his fellow member, Jungkook, “almost” performed at the 2024 Super Bowl. “Usher invited him before the military, but it didn’t work out because of the military,” he said.
For those unversed, JK was enlisted in the South Korean military on December 12, 2023. Before leaving, he released his album, “Golden.” In it, he collaborated with Usher on the remix of the track, “Standing Next to You.” As per RM, the youngest BTS member was invited to the 2024 Super Bowl by the American singer, but couldn’t do it because Jungkook got enlisted.
Meanwhile, in the interview, RM continued, “Officially, unofficially, I think it’s the best event and show stage in the whole world.” Furthermore, the members of the popular boy band agreed that the platform is said to be a massive stage. However, the possibility of them performing on that stage seemingly would depend on cultural openness and the right timing.
“Maybe if time goes by, and the thoughts in the people change. All of the people in the world are watching Parasite, all these great things in Korean culture. So if there’s a chance, we definitely want to someday,” the group leader mentioned. Adding to that, Jimin said, “We can’t do it unless we’re invited.”
