BTS wins Artist of the Year at the 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs). Under this category, the other nominees were Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift. Aside from this big win, the K-pop sensation also bagged Song of the Summer for the title track, “SWIM,” from their latest album, “Arirang,” and Best Male K-pop Artist.
The Bangtan boys have been in Las Vegas for their Arirang World Tour. Amid their busy schedules, they made time to drop by the AMAs. After four years, the band appeared on an award show. A pre-taped performance of their album song, “Hooligan,” left the audience mesmerized. They first got on the stage to present the Best Female R&B Artist award to SZA.
Furthermore, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and JungKook got more chances to make their appearances as they won all three awards they were nominated for. BTS leader RM thanked ARMY and all other artists during his acceptance speech for Song of the Summer. V then chimed in and said, “To everyone out there who keeps swimming, we send our love, no matter what, keep swimming.”
When they won the Artist of the Year, the screaming and cheering fandom couldn’t hold their excitement. RM waited for the crowd to calm down, but it didn’t work out. So he tried his best to shout, saying, “ARMY, we did it once again!”
