SZA Fangirls Over BTS in AMAs Winning Speech

SZA‘s fangirling moment over BTS at the 2026 AMAs caught attention. The K-pop boy band returned to an award show after a long time. While they are on their world tour for their new album, “Arirang,” the band dropped by the 52nd American Music Awards on Monday. Their first appearance on the stage was as presenters for the Best Female R&B Artist. When SZA came to receive her win, she couldn’t contain her excitement about meeting the global sensation.

SZA shares a message to BTS before accepting her AMAs for ‘Best Female R&B Artist’

SZA’s winning speech started with a message to BTS at the 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs). On May 25, the event took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Among several trophies, the K-pop boy band presented the Best Female R&B Artist award. BTS leader RM held the mic and announced the winner, “SZA!”

With a big round of applause, the “Snooze” hitmaker appeared on the stage to receive the award. She seemed ecstatic and overwhelmed upon meeting the popular band BTS. After band member Jimin gave her the trophy, SZA bowed and expressed her excitement with thank-you gestures. Meanwhile, the Bangtan boys cheered for her and guided her to deliver her acceptance speech.

The 36-year-old appeared to be a fan of the band and was seemingly happy to see them. Hence, she wanted to first capture that moment before expressing gratitude for her win. Fangirling over BTS, she said, “It’s so nice to meet you formally in person.” The singer added, “It’s crazy that this is the moment, so I had to take this moment to just let this be the moment.” Furthermore, she continued her speech and thanked other female artists, her fandom, and others.

After presenting the award to SZA, BTS returned to the stage to accept three wins. They bagged Artist of the Year, Best Male K-pop Artist, and Song of the Summer for the title track, “SWIM,” from their latest album, “Arirang.”
