Adam Driver’s conduct on the set of a hit HBO show is being thrown into question. Lena Dunham is pulling back the curtain on the Oscar-nominated actor and his alleged behavior on Girls. That series ran for six seasons on HBO, earning both Adam and Lena Emmy nominations.
On the show, Lena and Adam have an on-again, off-again relationship, which is often toxic. If her new memoir is accurate, their relationship off camera was similar to that.
Lena Dunham said her Girls co-star was “verbally aggressive”

As successful as the show was, there were said to be plenty of unsettling moments between Adam and Lena on Girls. She told People why she wrote about Adam in her novel. “It was an attempt to capture that [relationship] in an honest way,” said Lena.
From the beginning of their time together on that show, Lena was put in some less-than-ideal situations. In her first sex scene with him in season one, she claims that careful blocking went out the window because Adam reportedly “hurled me this way and that,” according to Lena. She adds that he was “verbally aggressive,” something that made her feel rather uneasy. Lena says that doing a fight scene with him was equally unnerving at first because for her, he was so present while also being absent.
Lena admits that she never felt violated by Adam’s actions, though she says she wouldn’t know if she had. The allegations made by Lena seem to draw some parallels to another one from a prominent show. Millie Bobby Brown previously made some explosive claims against her Stranger Things co-star David Harbour. She previously accused him of bullying on set.
According to Lena, she and Adam frequently fought in the first season of the show. In her book, she claims that his intense nature helped them build a creative connection. Her novel Famesick is now available.
