Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.
Taylor Frankie Paul’s brushes with the law have dominated the headlines recently. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s volatile relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, was heavily featured on the series. And the former couple was recently involved in two alleged domestic violence investigations in Utah.
The Draper Police Department had an open domestic abuse investigation stemming from a complaint in February 2026. Both Dakota and Taylor had allegations against each other. In addition, Dakota contacted the West Jordan police department, alleging that Taylor was also involved in a domestic violence incident from 2024.

TMZ reported that the Salt Lake City District Attorney’s Office declined to file criminal charges against Taylor in the two open investigations. According to the district attorney’s office, there was not enough evidence to move forward with the charges. In fact, prosecutors reportedly indicated that it would be difficult to prove that Taylor committed a crime in these cases.
However, Taylor is on probation, stemming from a domestic violence incident in 2023. She pleaded guilty in abeyance to a charge of aggravated assault and was sentenced to three years’ probation. Somehow, footage of the incident surfaced, showing Taylor throwing chairs at Dakota and hitting him.
As a result, the network canceled Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette. Meanwhile, prosecutors also stated that, in Taylor’s case, they are not pursuing any probation violations. Taylor’s probation is set to end in August 2026.
TMZ reached out to Taylor’s representative for comment, but did not hear back.
In addition, Dakota was granted temporary custody of Ever, his son with Taylor, as well as a protective order against the SLOMW star. Meanwhile, a judge recently determined that Ever will remain in Dakota’s custody. As for Taylor? She will have eight hours of supervised visitation each week until the next hearing on April 30.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming on Hulu.
