The allegations against D4vd are having a ripple effect on his career. Reports are coming out that record label Interscope cut ties with the Here with Me singer late last year. That coincided with the time police were investigating the suspicious death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The rapper, born David Anthony Burke, is said to have been linked to her death. Investigators discovered some heavily decomposed body parts of her in a Tesla registered to D4vd. The two were rumored to have been in a relationship.
The singer has officially been charged with murdering the 14-year-old

Clearing his name is likely to be D4vd’s primary focus moving forward. Interscope’s decision to drop him, according to TMZ, wasn’t announced originally because he’d not been formally charged with anything at that time. That has changed with the singer now facing a charge of first-degree murder plus a cone of alleged lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and mutilating a body.
Last week, Los Angeles police tracked him down, arresting him at his rental property. He’d been reportedly hiding out there to lay low while the investigation was going on. Members of the robbery-homicide division, along with the K-9 unit and narcotics divisions of the LAPD, were said to be on hand during the arrest.
According to the District Attorney, Nathan Hochman D4vd was lying in wait on April 23, 2025. That’s the date that he believes he killed her. The DA thinks that D4vd had something to gain financially from her death. Speculation is that Celeste and D4vd had a sexual relationship, and that he could lose his career if she talked.
Celeste’s mother has said that she knew her late daughter’s boyfriend was named David, though she didn’t officially identify him as D4vd. In addition to the murder charges against him, D4vd is also accused of murdering a witness. Prosecutors have indicated they will seek the death penalty in this case.
