Donald Trump’s Attempted Assassination Questioned By Marjorie Taylor Greene

Questions surrounding Donald Trump’s attempted assassination in 2024 have resurfaced after former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene shared posts calling for more transparency. Her remarks got backlash and further exposed divisions within the MAGA movement.

Marjorie Taylor Greene drops question about Trump’s attempted assassination

Greene posted on X about the July 13, 2024, shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a gunman opened fire at a rally, injuring Trump and killing attendee Corey Comperatore. The attacker, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was later shot dead by a Secret Service counter-sniper.

Referencing the victim, Greene wrote, “Corey Comperatore’s wife and daughters deserve to know why Corey, a true American patriot and hero was murdered in Butler.” She also questioned Trump’s earlier rhetoric, adding, “Trump said repeatedly ‘I am your retribution.’ Where is the retribution?”

While amplifying a post that raised doubts about the circumstances of the attack, Greene clarified her stance. “I’m not calling the Butler assassination a hoax,” she wrote. “But there are a lot of questions that deserve public answers.” She emphasized concerns about security lapses and the need for more information from authorities.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s posts went further by questioning the lack of public details about the attacker. “I’m asking why won’t Trump release the information about Matthew Crooks? Did he actually act alone? If not, who is behind him and who helped him? Why the cover up??” she wrote. Her remarks followed the circulation of a post by activist Trisha Hope, which pointed to alleged irregularities in the incident. Greene described the post as “extremely important … worth the read and consideration,” though critics interpreted this as support for conspiracy theories.

The controversy comes amid a broader rift between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Donald Trump. Once a vocal supporter, Greene has recently criticized Trump’s leadership, accused him of straying from America First principles, and warned that continued loyalty could hurt Republican prospects. Trump has since revoked his endorsement and publicly denounced her.
