Aubrey Plaza jokes about Seth Meyers delivering her baby
Pregnant Aubrey Plaza hilariously quipped that she wants Seth Meyers to deliver her baby. As Plaza sat comfortably, Meyers asked cheekily, “Is it safe to assume, my dear friend Aubrey, that you are with child?” Plaza replied deadpan, “How dare you ask a woman that?”
Meyers replied, “Have I jumped the gun?” To which she replied, “No, you are right. There’s something inside.” “There is something inside you,” he repeated with a laugh. The White Lotus star revealed, “It’s a baby.” Meyers replied, “It is very exciting. We are very happy for you.”
Plaza interjected, “May need you to pull it out.” The host asked with a tone of surprise, “What’s that? You want me to pull it out?” The Parks and Recreation star joked, “That’s why I came here tonight.” Meyers quickly replied, “Oh, I would rather not do that.”
Plaza continued, “It’s either you or Henry Winkler. Those are my top two.” For those unversed, Henry Winkler was Plaza’s Parks and Recreation co-star who delivered her baby on the show (via PEOPLE). Meyers played along, replying, “I would choose Henry. Wouldn’t you?” To which Plaza replied, “Well, he delivered my baby on Parks and Recreation, so that’s all I know.”
Previously, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Plaza is expecting her first baby with partner Christopher Abbott, and is due this fall. The source shared, “It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year.” “They feel very blessed,” the source added.
Later in the month, the multi-hyphenated star appeared on a special bonus episode of the Smartless podcast. Also, she spoke about her excitement about becoming a first-time mother. Plaza said, “I am. Yeah. I’ve always wanted, I’ve always wanted, I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know? It just seems so interesting, that whole thing.”
