Hilary Duff Plans To Turn Tour Into Family Road Trip With Husband & Kids

Hilary Duff has a busy summer ahead, but as she gets ready to return to big stages for her “The Lucky Me” tour, she plans to bring her husband and kids along. Duff says she wants the experience to feel less like a work trip and more like a family trip that just happens to include a show at night.

And for that, she said her husband, musician Matthew Koma, and her four kids will join her on the road. Moreover, the singer said she has already started mapping out when the kids can travel with her and when they will head home to reset.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Hilary Duff said that her husband and her kids — Luca, Banks, Mae, and Townes — will join her on “The Lucky Me” tour.

Duff told the outlet, “I spent hours with my assistant [looking at] the tour schedule, being like, ‘Okay, I want them here for this stretch. They can go home these days,’” adding, “It’s been a lot of logistics that can seriously bend a brain, but it’s going to be an adventure.”

The singer-actor explained, “All of these cities have so much to offer, and I feel like there would be no other time when my kids would see the U.S. like this, so we’re just thinking of it as a big, long road trip.” She added, “And hopefully, they don’t get bored with seeing my show every night.”

The singer expects the younger kids to be around for most of it. However, she noted that Luca is “a teenager, so he’s not going to be giving me four weeks of his summer. But he’ll be bopping in and out, for sure.”

Duff’s “The Lucky Me” tour begins on June 22 in West Palm Beach, Fla., and will include dates in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
