Rebel Wilson isn’t holding back her feelings regarding the explosive allegations made against her. The Pitch Perfect actress appeared in an Australian court on Tuesday. Actress Charlotte MacInnes is suing Rebel for alleged defamation. She claims that the Sydney-born actress made social media posts which hurt Charlotte’s reputation.
Charlotte and Rebel previously worked together on the set of the 2024 film The Deb. Charlotte is suing her over Instagram posts the latter shared in 2024 and 2025, alleging that Amanda Ghost, a producer on the movie, sexually harassed Charlotte. Rebel claims that Charlotte walked back those complaints to better her career.
Rebel Wilson takes the stand to battle mistreatment claims

She was grilled in court on Tuesday, but Rebel stood her ground. During the proceedings in Sydney, Charlotte’s lawyers asked Rebel if she believed she was a “champion of women.” Rebel responded by saying, “I don’t believe I’ve ever mistreated a woman.” She adds that no one else complained about her behavior on The Deb or at any other time in Rebel’s lengthy acting career. She was also questioned on allegations of bullying, something Rebel called “absolute nonsense.” That accusation came up earlier this month
Rebel told the court that Charlotte felt uncomfortable after reportedly taking a bath with Amanda, one of the movie’s producers. According to The Times, Rebel was “pretty shocked” by this. She says that she took it as a sexual harassment complaint.
Meanwhile, on the stand, Rebel also addressed the social media posts. According to her those were “truthful statements.” Rebel went on to say she had no recollection of privately criticizing either Amanda or Charlotte, or of doing so in other interviews.
Amanda, Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden, two other producers on The Deb, originally filed a defamation suit against Rebel in 2024. This came after Rebel alleged they were trying to prevent the film from premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Deb hit theatres in Australia this month but hasn’t been seen in North America.
