A Christmas Story Star Scott Schwartz Names Biggest Rival In Adult Film Industry

A Christmas Story actor Scott Schwartz recently discussed his shift into the adult entertainment industry. He talked about his biggest competitor in that genre, before he moved back to mainstream performances.

Along with 1983’s hit A Christmas Story, Scott also appeared in The Toy in 1982 before transitioning to adult films. He is best known as Flick in the former movie, the kid who got his tongue stuck to a frozen flagpole.

The highest paid star was another familiar name … John Wayne Bobbitt

Scott discussed his difficulty finding acting jobs as a teen and adult on Hollywood Demons, Child Stars Gone Wild. “I’d done all the shows and the ABC after-school specials and all that stuff,” he said. “And then I hit puberty and we’ve got a problem. My voice changes. I don’t get any taller, 5’2″ on a great day. Now I look 15 and I sound 27. What do you do?”

It wasn’t for lack of effort that the child star wasn’t landing any roles. “I wasn’t getting enough work,” he recalled. “After high school, [I] came out to LA, got a couple things here and there. I’m not exactly five eight, five nine, so there’s only certain roles that people will put me in. I’m not making any money.”

He revealed why he shifted to adult entertainment, saying, “I did it for the paycheck.”

Scott’s biggest rival was John Wayne Bobbitt, who became famous after his wife, Lorena, sliced off his penis. “I was the second-highest-paid male performer ever. It was John Wayne Bobbitt was the first and I’m second. It was the one time. I’m good. That was the end of that,” he said.

Scott worked multiple jobs while in college, including one at The Comedy Store, where he met adult entertainment stars, including Ron Jeremy. This was the beginning of his short stint in the adult entertainment space.

Child Stars Gone Wild premieres Monday, April 27, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ID. New episodes of Hollywood Demons premiere weekly and are steaming on HBO Max.
