Donald Trump Reminds King Charles of an Old Friend, Claims Insider

An insider recently suggested that Donald Trump reminds King Charles III of his late friend, Joan Rivers. The British monarch and Queen Camilla are on a state visit to the United States, which will end on April 30. Recently, when the royal highnesses joined Trump and First Lady Melania for a state dinner, the King gifted him a World War II-era golden bell.

Recently, an insider claimed that the two-time US President reminds the British sovereign of a very dear, late friend.

The source, said to be close to the palace, reportedly told Rob Shuter, “Donald reminds the King very much of Joan (Rivers). Not politically, not ideologically — but in spirit. He finds him very funny, wildly entertaining, and impossible to ignore.”

Another source stated that King Charles III and Donald Trump “agree on almost nothing.” However, based on the claims, the former seems to hold a “soft spot for people who are sharp, unpredictable, and know how to command a room. Joan had that. Donald has that too.”

Yet another insider added that the King seems to feel this way because he is fond of people who entertain him. Although he might not end up agreeing with someone, he would like to spend time with them if they are “interesting.” They added, “Donald is interesting. Joan was interesting. That matters to Charles.”

Furthermore, one source even likened Donald Trump and King Charles III to an “odd couple,” and added, “They have almost nothing in common on paper, and yet Charles genuinely seems to enjoy him. Donald amuses him. And if you can make Charles laugh, you’re already halfway there.”

Notably, the British monarch even gave the United States a golden bell as a gift at the state dinner. Being described as a “symbol of friendship,” King Charles said while presenting the gift, “I am delighted to present to you as a personal gift, the original bell which hung on the conning tower of your valiant namesake. Should you ever need to get hold of us, just give us a ring!”
