Former The View Cohost Lashes Out at Her Replacement

Meghan McCain lashed out at her “The View” replacement, Alyssa Farah Griffin, calling her a “joke.” McCain spoke about Griffin in a new episode of her Citizen McCain talk show, where she said the show had originally asked for her help in picking a replacement but ended up choosing someone who did not share her values or ideas. McCain also slammed the show, calling it a “toxic” work environment.

Meghan McCain, who exited “The View” in 2021, lashed out at the show and at her replacement, Alysha Farah Griffin, during a new episode of her Citizen McCain talk show.

On the show, McCain welcomed conservative influencer Isabel Brown to discuss her feud with “The View” co-hosts. After Brown criticized the show, McCain said that “the idea that a woman could be pro-life is beyond anyone at that show’s comprehension.”

Continuing on the criticism of the show, McCain said, “The other thing is, when I left The View, the executive producer said, ‘I want you to help me help pick your [successor].’…The show has only won an Emmy twice in its history — one time is when I was there, for Best Political Show.”

Contrary to McCain’s claims, “The View” has won more than 30 Daytime Emmys, and there is no “Best Political Show” category.

McCain continued saying that she gave them a “list of women I thought would be great” that included the likes of Allie Beth Stuckey. But the show decided to go with Griffin.

“I’m gonna say something that’s a little nasty,” McCain said, “The person they replaced me with is a joke. She is in no way representative of conservative women. It’s been a wildly disappointing experience for me to see what legacy I helped do during the four years there while my dad battled brain cancer and I had not one, but two miscarriages while I worked there.”

McCain continued criticizing Griffin throughout the rest of the episode as well.
