During Episode 5 of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, the ladies tried to convince Rulla Pontarelli that her husband was cheating. Though her friend Jo-Ellen Tiberi had texts from his alleged mistress, Rulla denied her husband Brian Pontarelli was unfaithful.
Jo-Ellen believed that Brian was visiting his girlfriend every morning when he claimed to be at the gym. But when she showed Rulla text messages from the other woman, Rulla refused to believe her. She claimed the text messages were fabricated.
Rulla feels husband Brian Pontarelli has “repented” for cheating…
“Brian is the person who I’ve known my entire life,” Rulla told Us Weekly. “For any mistakes or misjudgements he’s made, I can honestly tell everyone that he has more than repented his sins … [Some] people … might say, ‘Oh, my God, after what he did, I can’t believe she’s with him or taking him back’ … [But] I feel like for a woman with values, it actually makes you a stronger person.”
Apparently, Brian was seeing someone during the summer of 2024, but Rulla believed it was over. However, Jo-Ellen showed Rulla a photo of the alleged other woman with Brian in his car.
Brian had left the group earlier saying his mother was in the hospital. But for some reason, he dropped Rulla at home before “going to the hospital.” Am I the only one who thought that was a little shady? Especially when they were talking about it after he returned, and he sat in silence rather than defending himself.
Nevertheless, according to Rulla, “People have lapses of judgment … But it just never came to light, or they never admitted it. There’s a lot of that stuff that goes on that we don’t know about, or that’s never admitted.”
“In this case,” she continued, “certain things were brought to light and I’ve navigated them as best as possible … I’m on top of things … so Jo-Ellen doesn’t need to be.”
In addition to the cheating allegations, Brian also faces a domestic violence charge. He’s accused of placing an electronic tracking device on someone’s car without permission.
