Ex-Prince Andrew Facing Criticism Over Allegations Of Exploiting Close Relationship With Queen Elizabeth to Manipulate Authority — Source

The scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is not over yet. Since being stripped of his titles and evicted from Royal Lodge, he’s probably hoping to enjoy a quieter life at his new home on the Sandringham Estate. Instead, the former Duke of York has been accused of exploiting his relationship with Queen Elizabeth.

Royal biographer Robert Hardman shares his insight on Ex-Prince Andrew’s alleged tactics

Speaking to Radar Online, royal biographer Robert Hardman alleged that the former prince used tactics to get his own way with the late Queen, who had a tightly controlled schedule overseen by senior aides. However, it seems that Andrew wasn’t a fan of those officials, so he devised a tactic to get past them.

“Whenever he was told he couldn’t do something or something was impossible, his favorite way of countermanding it would be to go round and have tea with mummy on a Sunday afternoon, because there were no officials around,” Robert revealed.

“On a Sunday at tea, Andrew would say, ‘Oh Mummy, you wouldn’t believe what they’ve told me I can’t do. It’s ridiculous. I’m sure you don’t mind me doing this. It’s going to be a good idea’,” the author suggested. “And she’d eventually say, ‘Alright, yes.’ And then on Monday morning, he’d say, ‘No, it’s quite all right. I’ve got the Queen’s permission. It’s going to happen’.”

A second source backed this theory up and described Andrew’s behavior as “sneaky.”

“It speaks to a dynamic where emotional closeness could be leveraged to override institutional checks,” the insider added. “It has all the hallmarks of a system being quietly exploited from within.”

But perhaps this shouldn’t come as a surprise. There’s a long-standing belief that Andrew was Her Majesty’s favorite child … so it makes sense that he often got his own way. “That came [with] a level of access others didn’t have,” a third source pointed out.
