Kate Middleton reached her wits’ end with Prince Harry last year. Royal expert Christopher Andersen is revealing juicy tidbits about the supposed rift between the in-laws. Harry has been estranged from Kate’s husband and future King, Prince William, for years, following the release of his memoir Spare.
While the book blasted numerous family members, that wasn’t the final straw for Kate. Some controversial words made by Princess Diana’s youngest son in 2025 apparently spelled the end of Kate’s relationship with Harry.

Loose lips sink ships. Harry’s 2025 interview supposedly closed the door for good on any reconciliation between Kate and the Duke of Sussex. In that interview, Harry said, “I don’t know how much longer my father has.” King Charles is currently battling cancer, which was revealed following a prostate check in 2024.” Speaking exclusively to US Weekly, Christopher says that those comments made Kate “more disappointed than angry.” Following Harry’s comments, Kate gave a bombshell interview with the BBC, in which she’d promised her husband that she was done with his estranged brother.
Apparently, Kate got bad vibes from Harry and Meghan Markle a long time ago. This was revealed in Russell Myers’s book William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story. There’s been bad blood between the two royal couples for years, per reports.
Kate has reportedly had a closer relationship with her father-in-law over the past couple of years. The Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer in 2024. Following chemotherapy treatment, she confirmed in January 2025 that her cancer was in remission.
According to Christopher, Harry’s comments struck a deeply personal chord with Kate. He says that she knows better than anyone how demoralizing comments like the Prince’s about his father can be. Christopher’s new book, Kate! The Courage, Grace and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen will be available on Tuesday.
