Hayden Panettiere is sharing her sexuality with the world. The actress from shows like Heroes and Nashville revealed for the first time that she is bisexual. Those are among the many things you’ll learn about the Golden Globe nominee in her upcoming book.
In the past, she had been romantically involved with some famous men, including a colleague on Heroes, Milo Ventimiglia. She also dated boxer Wladimir Klitschko, breaking up with him in 2018. She has a daughter with the former WBO champion.

Coming out can often take a long time, as Hayden is confessing. Speaking exclusively to US Weekly, she says that doing so didn’t cross her mind until she was “in the process of writing this book.” In the memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning, she discusses her attraction to women and the moment she felt ready to share it. “It took two years to write this book,” said Hayden. Coming out is a part of her life she neglected to discuss for years because, when she was young, she claims that she was “forced to be perfect at all times.”
Hayden is among the many celebrities to openly discuss their sexuality over the past few months. Last August, Julia Fox came out as pansexual. This revelation came a year after she said that she was a lesbian.
Admittedly, Hayden wasn’t sure what she’d be comfortable discussing when beginning this writing project. Along with the pressure of being perfect at a young age, Hayden says that she also didn’t want the label of “jumping on the bandwagon.” With the book upcoming, though, she says she is comfortable telling people that “I am bisexual. I said it!”
Growing up, she says that she always had a bigger attraction to women than to men. Her most recent public romance was with Brian Hickerson, which ended in 2020. This Is Me: A Reckoning will be available in stores on May 19.
