Shep Rose handed his ex a copy of his memoir and waited for her verdict. He then revealed exactly what Taylor Ann Green meant to the book.
A Bravo star faced an awkward moment when he passed his tell-all to the woman who fills much of it. Her response settled his nerves, and he went on to describe her role in the project in unusually warm terms. Where the two stand now, however, he left deliberately vague.
Shep Rose calls Taylor Ann Green his “muse”
Shep Rose gave his ex a copy of his memoir, then braced for the reaction. Taylor Ann Green appears throughout Nothing in Moderation: A Psychedelic Reckoning With Excess, and the Southern Charm star told Bravo Insider she came away happy with it.
“She really liked it. I said some nice things that I meant about she and her family in there,” he said. He then explained her role in the book directly. “She’s a big reason of how I got here today, right now, especially back then. So she, in many ways, was the muse, or a muse that inspired me.”
Taylor endorsed the project herself in June. She posted a photo of the book on a lounge chair and wrote, “Got my summer read, and it’s signed by THE [Shep].”
Costa Rica anchors the memoir. Shep traveled there to try ayahuasca, and the trip turned into what his publisher called “the most transformative, terrifying, and enlightening experience of his life.” The writing started before he even arrived.
“So here I am on a bus headed to Costa Rica, heading to do ayahuasca, and I just started writing,” he recalled. He described everyone around him carrying nervous excitement about what lay ahead. Eventually he shared journal snippets with close friends, who urged him to keep going. His first book, Average Expectations: Lessons in Lowering the Bar, arrived in 2021.
Meanwhile, the exes stayed coy about their status. Taylor split from Gaston Rojas, and the two reconnected afterwards. “She’s back in my life a little bit, and I’m very pleased with that,” Shep said on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio on July 1.
